Life Story for
Kenneth "Skip" Eastwood Jr.
Kenneth H. “Skip” Eastwood Jr., age 81, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully on November 2, 2015 at Salem Hills Nursing Home, Purdy’s, NY.
Skip was born on June 30, 1934 in Carmel, NY son to the late Kenneth H. and Alma V. (Yaede) Eastwood. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1952. On July 17, 1954 he married the love of his life Dorothy A. Durkin at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY. He honorably served in the US Army in the mid 1950’s.
Skip was the supervisor of UC & M Department with NYSEG for 41 years before retiring in 1993.
Through the years, Skip played the bass in several country and Western bands. He was an avid hunter and Dallas Cowboys fan. Skip was a gentleman farmer raising his own pork, chicken and turkey as well as fruits and vegetables. He was active in 4-H activities with his children. He was well loved, had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand.
Besides his wife Dorothy, Skip is survived by his three children; Sharon E. Giannicchi and her husband Rich of Redding, CT, Carol A. Hazzard and her husband Rich of Patterson, NY and Kenneth H. Eastwood III and his wife Bobi of New Milford, CT; his two siblings; Virginia R. Vassak and her husband Joseph of North Salem, NY and Thomas G. Eastwood and his wife Carol of Carmel, NY. Also his five grandchildren; Anna Alma Giannicchi, Rose Mary Giannicchi, Richard John Giannicchi, Greer Elizabeth Hazzard and Sloane Victoria Hazzard. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Sutton Joy Hazzard in 2010.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 11:00am at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. Interment following at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson, NY.
