Flanagan, Catherine M., died on Saturday, September 24, 2016 with her family at her side at Maplewood of Danbury. She was 93 years young.
Catherine was born on January 30, 1923 in the Bronx, NY to Cornelius and Mary (O’Connor) Culhane. She was a graduate of schools in the Bronx.
Catherine had lived most of her years in Elmhurst, Queens, NY. She was an executive secretary at JP Morgan in New York for many years.
Catherine enjoyed reading, shopping, trips to Atlantic City and an occasional cruise. She was an avid Yankees fan as well. The love for her family was paramount, especially for her three granddaughters and one great grandson. Of them, she was so very proud.
Catherine is survived by her two children, John Flanagan of Westbury, NY and Maureen Crowley (Kevin) of Brewster, NY and her three granddaughters, Toni and Kyle Fitzpatrick of Smithtown, NY, Rani and David Vargas of North Massapequa, NY and Jacquelyn Crowley of Brewster, NY. Also a great grandson, Connor Fitzpatrick. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Culhane and her brother Cornelius Culhane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
