Richard G. Schumann
Richard G. Schumann, a resident of Peach Lake since 1972, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Mt. Kisco, NY. He was 82 years old.
Dick was born on November 6, 1935 in New York City, son of Stephen and Mary (Girovsky) Schumann. He graduated from Haran High School in Yorkville, Manhattan, NY and proudly served in the army from 1953 until 1956.
On April 27, 1963, Dick married the love of his life, Mary Peyton at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Manhattan, NY.
Dick was a mechanic for MABSTOA in the Bronx for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He had worked as a factory worker for Continental Can Co. in Queens, NY prior.
Dick enjoyed spectator sports and chess, traveling the United States and to points around the globe with his loving wife Mary. He was also a member of the VFW. Dick was a family man for certain….enjoying time spent with his children and grandchildren were very special to him.
Besides his loving wife Mary of 54 years, Dick is survived by his two daughters, Regina (Gil) Wilshire of Columbia, MO and Elizabeth (Luqman) Ghauri of Potomac, MD, a sister, Patricia Petrov of Marietta, GA and four grandchildren, Hunter & Miles and Danny & Anya.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 7:00pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Interment will be held the following day at 11:00am at Peach Pond Cemetery, North Salem, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm.www.Beecherfuneralhome.com
