Obituary

Gertrude Webster, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Brewster, NY, died in the comfort of her daughter’s home with her family by her side on May 7, 2020. She was 85 years old.

Born on August 1, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late David and Rose (Arnsten) Reedie. Gertrude graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY.

On June 26, 1954 she married the love of her life, John Webster. Outdoors, Gertrude’s favorite pastimes were gardening, swimming, and playing tennis. She also enjoyed reading and knitting. She was known to be sweet, kind, and witty. She loved to share stories of her childhood and growing up with her family in Yonkers.

Mrs. Webster is survived by her three children; Janet Bayersdorfer (Eugene) of Wappingers Falls, NY, Susan Tobacco (Anthony) of Brewster, NY, and Steven Webster (Lisa) of Pawling, NY, her grandchildren; Lindsay and Kathryn Bayersdorfer, Lauren and Christopher Tobacco, and Sarah and Marshall Webster. She also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Brynn Marshall.

At this time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family burial will take place at Milltown Rural Cemetery in Brewster, NY. Beecher Funeral Home, Brewster NY assisted the family with the arrangements. Please visit www.Beecherfuneralhome.com to share condolences and memories.

Billy & I would like to offer our deep condolences to Susan, Anthony, Lauren, Chris, & the whole Webster family. We didn't know your Mom well, but she was always kind & generous with her smile whenever we did get to see her. I will continue to keep her in my prayers, while I wish for all of you the peace & consolation of the Holy Family. God bless you all!

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. I have fond memories of her. She was always so sweet and kind. Spent so much time at your house and the pool with your family. She was a kind person. Prayers for you all and the family. Mich love.
