Life Story for Paul J. Hasselmann

Paul J. Hasselmann, of Putnam Lake, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday May 11, 2019 at Danbury Hospital Center. He was 77 years old.
Born on September 23, 1941 in New York City, NY son of the late Thomas and Anne (Murphy) Hasselmann. Paul graduated from St. Agnes High School and honorably served in the US Coast Guard.
On April 18, 1964 he married the love of his life Veronica ‘Ronnie’ O’Donnell in Brooklyn, NY. Together they moved to Putnam Lake and created a home.
One of Paul’s greatest passions in life was his career with the NYS Police. If he had it his way he would have never retired, however after more than 40 years he retired as a senior investigator. He also enjoyed photography and traveling with his wife. Paul was always on the sidelines cheering his grandchildren on at all their functions.
Mr. Hasselmann is survived by not only his loving wife, Ronnie, but also his children; Barbara A. Spofford (John Corrao) of Carmel, NY and Paul J. Hasselmann (Julie) of Brookfield, CT, his 5 grandchildren; Sean (Erica), Brooke, Terrence, Dylan, and Emma, his loving brother and sister in laws and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 16, 2019 at 11am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. A private cremation will follow. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 15th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
