Robert E. Havel, of Brewster, NY, died peacefully on March 6, 2020. He was 67 years old.
Born on April 1, 1952 in Manhattan, NY to George and Frances (Tighe) Havel. Robert was a graduate of John Jay High School in Katonah, NY and attended SUNY Plattsburgh.
Robert married the love of his life, Toni Piteo, on October 8, 1977 at St. Patrick’s Church, Armonk, NY.
Robert was an Auto Insurance Adjuster for over 40 years. Retiring at age 62.
First and foremost a loving husband, father and Pop. Robert was also a true sportsman at heart. Be it hunting, fishing, boating or that of an avid NY Yankees fan, Robert was in his glory. He also loved history and was an excellent storyteller….whether it was a large group of friends or sitting next to a single passenger on the train, Robert was sure to reel you in… hook, line and sinker. A truly special man.
Besides his wife Toni of 42 years, Robert is survived by his daughter Nicole Cosentino (Christopher) of Chappaqua, NY and his son, Paul E. Havel of White Plains, NY and his girlfriend Amanda Whisenant; 3 grandchildren; Ellie, Abby and Izzy; two brothers and two sisters, Catherine Suchenski (Bob) of Southbury, CT, Eugene Havel (Jodi) of Danbury, CT, Patricia McGinn (Thomas) of Katonah, NY and Gary Havel (Dana) of Cumming, GA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2020 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 55 Valley Rd., Katonah, NY. A private cremation will follow. Friends and family may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm.
