Obituary

Valerie Ann Powers, a 20-year resident of Brewster, NY, died on April 3, 2020 at Putnam Hospital Center. She was 68 years old.
Born on December 27, 1951 in Port Chester, NY daughter of the late Lenard and Hellen (Uva) Sabato.
On May 9, 1972 she married the love of her life Bob L. Powers. Bob predeceased his wife. Valerie was proud of her career as a bank teller at Bank and Trust of Katonah, NY until she became a mother of two boys Robert and Joshua.
Valerie is survived by her loving sons; Robert L. Powers and his wife Kasey of Woodside, NY and Joshua R. Powers of Long Island City, NY, her 2 grandchildren Simon and Caleb, and her siblings; Carmela Marino, Joseph Sabato, Theodore Sabato and Mary Rose Cobb, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Frank V. Sabato and sister Suzanne Purpura.
A private cremation was held. Future services will be announced at a later date. Beecher Funeral Home, Brewster, NY assisted the family with arrangements.
